The imprint left by a Russian XIX-century poet Fyodor Tyutchev is immense. His works have been translated into hundreds of languages and are known all over the world. With our fourth «Step», we tried to encompass the footprint left by Tyutchev's genius and celebrate the culture that inspired him.
The festival featured poetry and music, calligraphy and ballroom dancing, crafting workshops, traditional Russian games and rituals, lectures, art exhibitions and guided tours in Tyutchev Museum. Tyutchev's poems were recited in 5 languages of the project by its international guests:
Loretta Henry,
Zoli Mauritz,
Jean-Daniel Uldry and
Jaider Esbell.
The festival culminated with the formation of the installation: Tyutchev's poems were read by dozens of volunteers standing in 14 circles forming the giant footprint.
The project was carried out in collaboration with the
State Memorial Museum of Fyodor Tyutchev, under the talented management of a Russian language philologist Elena Burdina.
The Giant Steps project is forever grateful to the local volunteers and international donors who made this experience possible:
